camp

Well, I am going to be playing catch up to document all that we have been up to in the last month.  The first is Girl's Camp.  The last time I blogged was minutes before leaving and I was very nervous about how things would turn out.  I can honestly say things were GREAT!  Nothing bad happened, we didn't have any drama, the girls were happy, and things flowed smoothly as planned.  It was A LOT of work with VERY LITTLE sleep but I had such a good time and am looking forward to next year.

Here is every person in our ward who attended Camp Lomia, either with our ward or at the stake level. I think this was our "funny" pose.

I thought our skit/lip sync turned out so cute. We made these "stick men" using the some of the boys in our ward pictures and the girls danced with them in part of the skit. It was hysterical! They danced to a mix of "Going to the Chapel"(temple), "I'm a Believer", and "I Can Hear the Bells".

There were several other great skits!

Chloe actually got an award at camp for what she was doing in this picture.  One of the girls in our ward got sick on the hike probably with heat exhaustion and after resting with her for awhile she decided she could continue but was still feeling pretty sick so Chloe offered to carry her on her back.  She did this for quite awhile and I was so impressed with the compassion she showed for this girl and also her strength.  I'm not sure I could have done it myself!

Chloe and some friends taking a snack break on our hike.

The group with our laterns we made to "Seek His Light and Shine".

We had darling decorations made by by friend Jenny who didn't even come to camp and so generously offered her time and talents to us.  Our ward theme was, "Seek, Shine and Be Sweet".

This was the cabin Chloe and I were in.  Messy, I know!

I thought the food was delicious and not having to cook for a week made it taster all the better.

My friend Jenny also made these headbands for all of our 1st year girls.  They had bells on them and we made them wear them most of the time so when their bells jingled we could find them. :)  It was a fun initiation and they were all good sports about it and who wouldn't want to wear such cute headbands anyway???

Just a note from my last post...I wrote that these girls got up at 4:15 to get ready for camp, well I found out on the bus ride to camp... they had NEVER gone to sleep. They pulled an all-nighter!

That about wraps it up...until next year!
